Current deputy of the White Furs, a clan not directly rivalled to the Black Furs but harbouring no love lost between them, Dermot is a quick-tempered kind of guy, quick to get his hackles up and throw himself feet first into a fight, be it verbal or physical - and those traits are common amongst his fellow Furs, holding ideals of taking care of humans if they threaten his clan.

Rosheen's opposite number, he feels superior to her in both physical strength and bravado, but he comes a poor second in intuition and wisdom.
